Local Minister writes about his "Conchie" father

Cardiff Church minister and Author Gethin Russell Jones has in the past written about his mothers work in Bletchley Park now he has put pen to paper about his father who was a conscientious objector or "Conchie" Gethin writes.... The Hope to Ghana Football Fest again proved to be a great success The organisers would like to thank all those who go involved "We had a great 2016 Football 5 aside competition last Saturday 2nd July. Our 2016 Overall Champions were St John The Baptist School and our "Europa League" winners were DC Utd Blue. Olive Branch Newport looking for new host church

Since 2009 the Olive Branch - Newport has operated out of The Gap Centre on Stow Hill, providing a quality non-discriminatory advice, advocacy and support service to those who are homeless or vulnerably housed in Newport. It’s a good work which has helped many, but the leaders at Bethel Community Church, which has run the project from the outset, have now reluctantly concluded that it is time for them to bow out of this particular ministry. Charities team up to support dementia-friendly churches

Alzheimer's Society and Alliance member Livability have launched a resource to help churches support those living with dementia.Developing a Dementia-Friendly Church is a practical guide for churches and faith communities.There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK and this number is set to increase to two million by 2051.Rev Dr David Primrose, director of transforming communities in the Diocese of Lichfield, said:"We want churches to be at the heart of dementia-friendly communities, where the voices of those living with dementia, and those who care for them, are clearly heard."This publication adds much practical guidance on developing dementia-friendly churches,…

CITY TEMPLE BECOMES CITY CHURCH

Cardiff church changes its name for the first time in 87 years to reflect changes in society and a new season of growth. City Temple, which has been a landmark church in Cardiff since 1934, on the corner of Cowbridge Road West and Lower Cathedral Road, is changing its name to CityChurch from 26th June 2016 in a reflection of the changing nature of society and the meaning of words.
