Eva's Story - The work of Manumit Coffee highlighted in a recent Media Wales report

A woman who moved to Britain to work as a nanny but ended up being stripped of her passport and being forced into sex work has described the horrors she had to endure. Eva - not her real name - was brought from the Baltic States under the promise of working as a nanny – but was forced to work almost constantly as a sex worker by violent gangs who paid her just £5 a day. Showing this week at Nantgarw Cinema outside Cardiff  Fri.24th - Sun. 26th August at various times; Mon. 27th - Thurs. 30th August:  Daily at 3.55pm only It’s the song that brings ultimate hope to so many … often in the midst of life’s most challenging moments. Feast from the East with the Eden Bus

In June the Eden Bus team, run by the Message in Wales planned a meal nicknamed ‘Feast from the East’ for their local community and the surrounding areas. The team planned for 50 guests but 174 turned up on the night. This came with its challenging – trying to provide food and seats for everyone. Alongside the Eden Bus they had face painting, bouncy castles, live music and Andy Hawthorne preached the gospel. They saw nine responses to the gospel during the evening. Sporting Marvels Bible Appeal - Can you help make a difference?

Every year we back the Sporting Marvels Bible Appeal.  Giving away an age relevant Bible to each youngster going through their programme. This year 600 Bibles are being purchased, and the great news is The Message Trust is helping us get their age relevant Bible into the hands our the Kids in the Rhondda, at a huge discount. TLG Charity leader wins Change Maker of the Year Award at the Charity Bank Impact Awards 2018!

  The founder of a Christian charity that was set up almost two decades ago to transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people around the UK has won an award for the positive change he is helping to bring about. Newport church's prayer room survives devastating fire

Taken from BBC website The pastor of a fire-ravaged church has said it is "quite incredible" a prayer room survived relatively unscathed. The 130-year-old Grade-II listed Bethel Community Church on Stow Hill in Newport was destroyed after a fire spread from an old nightclub next door. Some worshippers speculated that a "spiritual fire" had protected the room, Pastor Andrew Cleverly said. Mr Cleverly is also hoping to retrieve tapes of his late father's sermons which are stored in the room. About 95 firefighters and police officers responded on 15 June but it took until the following evening to put out…

An end of an era for Evangelical Alliance in Wales as Elfed Godding plans to step down

Elfed Godding will step down as national director for Wales and coalitions at the Evangelical Alliance at the end of September to embark on a new phase of ministry. The Evangelical Church in Wales will miss the wisdom and commitment that Elfed has shown to Wales over many years and without whom the Net Cardiff and Net Wales would not exist.     After a three-year period seeking God's will for the next chapter in his life and service, Elfed announced in May that after 19 years at the organisation, he will stand down to focus on local church leadership…
