Healing Hearts, Transforming Nations

Conference and Discussion Super User
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: 12

September 10th-13th, 2019

Coleg Trefeca, Trefeca, Brecon, Powys, LD3 0PP

with Dr Rhiannon Lloyd, Healing the Nations and Rev George De Vuyst (Ukraine)

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the previous workshop in Trefeca we are delighted to announce that we are holding another one. This three day residential workshop aims to equip Christian leaders to be agents of healing and reconciliation. First developed by Dr. Rhiannon Lloyd in post-genocide Rwanda, it is now being run actively by local believers in many different parts of the world. It seeks to bring healing and wholeness to communities suffering from ethnic bitterness and division. People from differing ethnic and church backgrounds are invited to encounter God and one another at heart level. In a safe environment, they are encouraged to experience healing and are able to develop new perspectives and attitudes. A combination of interactive teaching, group sessions, ministry times and participant interaction is used. Each session builds upon previous sessions, so full participation is essential. After attending the workshop, thousands of lives have been transformed, communities have been changed and churches have taken steps towards becoming agents of healing and reconciliation.

Widowed Young - Support Day - Care for the Family

Conference and Discussion Swansea
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: 424242

Step away from daily pressures and join us on one of our support days.

This special day is one in which you will be able to relax completely in the company of people who understand first hand the pain of loss. Just being able to share with or simply listen to others in a safe, supportive environment is an  ideal opportunity to discover some fresh perspectives and to renew your strength, purpose and hope for the future.

Things to look forward to on the day

There will be opportunities to share informally over refreshments and lunch. Some of the issues we’ll talk about together during the sessions include:

  • How to respond to feelings of guilt, anger and despair
  • Strategies you can use to help overcome the pain of loss and shattered dreams
  • Practical ideas to help you cope in the tough times
  • Finding comfort, hope and a way forward

Meet the team

Steve and Paula are Care for the Family’s Widowed Young Support coordinators. They met on a Widowed Young Support weekend in May 2008 and were married in October 2009. They both have two children from their first marriages.

StevePaula2014Having both been widowed young in 2007, Steve and Paula have personal experience and understanding of the grief journey. They are to use this at the Widowed Young Support Days and Weekends, and throughout the year in one-to-one telephone befriending and through regular email newsletters.

Steve and Paula are joined by a dedicated team of befrienders who have all experienced the loss of a partner early in life. They are there to welcome you and are available to listen, walk alongside you and help you on your journey towards hope and a rebuilding of your life.

The cost of attending one of our Widowed Young Support Days is £22 per person. This will include lunch and refreshments.

Widowed Young Support events are available to anybody who has lost a partner up to and including the age of 50 or older if you still have dependent children.
